DCA, a creative communications consulting firm based in Downtown Memphis, is pleased to announce the promotions of John David Dowdle as Associate Creative Director and Abbie Gordon as a Vice President of Account Management.
Dowdle has been a key member of DCA’s creative department since joining the firm in 2012, cultivating iconic, now-instituted brands that have been woven into the greater Memphis brand and narrative, from Explore Bike Share and Loflin Yard to Humphrey’s Prime Cut Shoppe and the recently recognized Discover Memphis Naturally campaign.
Gordon has served DCA’s client roster in account management for four years, guiding new clients and entrepreneurial opportunities for the firm from inception to ongoing management. Most recently as Senior Account Manager, Gordon’s accounts include Explore Bike Share, Mighty Lights, Big River Crossing, and Discover Memphis Naturally, among others.
“John David and Abbie have been integral players in DCA’s growth over the years and especially this past year,” said DCA Principal Doug Carpenter. “Abbie’s diligence to overdeliver for our clients and John David’s ability to bring award-winning brands to life have supported our firm’s strategy to not merely survive during the pandemic, but thrive.”
Most recently, Dowdle’s art direction and Gordon’s account management of the 11 W. Huling Light Box and Discover Memphis Naturally campaigns yielded DCA’s Best of Show awards in the 2021 American Advertising Federation ADDY Awards. The campaigns took home Best of Art Direction, Best of Campaigns, and Overall Best of Show, along with 22 Gold and Silver ADDYs.
