MEMPHIS—The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) presented creative communications consulting firm DCA with 19 awards—including “Best in Show”—during its annual VOX Awards ceremony on November 4, 2021.

“We are privileged to represent campaigns and clients who, despite the pandemic’s impacts, prompted an opportunity for innovation that not only was honored by PRSA but also pushed their organizations forward in unimaginable ways,” said DCA Principal and Executive Creative Director Doug Carpenter.

Judged by out-of-market industry professionals, PRSA honored DCA for its orchestration and representation of campaigns for clients including: Discover Memphis Naturally, Liberty Park, ArtsMemphis, Downtown Memphis Commission, Explore Bike Share, and Huling Properties.

“Each of these campaigns, from an inaugural ArtsWeek and rebranded Liberty Park to a redefined Downtown Dining Week and outdoors category, represents ingenuity in how we can engage the public and grow our city as a result,” said Cara Greenstein, DCA’s senior PR and social media manager, “As our Explore Bike Share campaign invited us to ‘ride this out,’ we came out of COVID with a renewed commitment to the power of communication.”

Notably, DCA was awarded “Best in Show” for its launch and success of the Discover Memphis Naturally campaign, a concept founded by the firm, who recognized that amplifying the outdoor category holistically during the pandemic could positively impact tourism revenue, recruiting and retention efforts, and also benefit the mental, physical, and cultural health of Memphis’ citizens. DCA converted a collective of outdoor-focused organizations into investors of a holistic marketing effort based on both data and drive. 

The Discover Memphis Naturally campaign received Best of Show for Integrated Communications with 8 additional awards for its campaign elements, including its website, media kit,  stair art installation on Riverside Drive, Memphis Tourism guide insert illustrated map, and seasonal series of local outfitters guides.
